The Forklift Operator has the primary task of unloading, loading and moving raw materials and finished product into and throughout the facility.
Essential Functions:
· Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them in assigned locations
· Locate and move stock to pallets for storage or shipment
· Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
· Carry out basic maintenance tasks on the forklift including, battery charging and/or refueling.
· Communicate any mechanical or electrical faults with the vehicle immediately to Supervisor
· Manually pulling lumber material for CNC operators (not daily)
· Cutting scrap (not daily)
· Changing out scrap and fluff boxes (not daily)
· As time allows, may be asked to cross train on shaping
Requirements:
· Ability to read and communicate in English to follow and understand work instructions
· Ability to use simple math using addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and understanding percentages and fractions.
· Great attention to detail
· High level of hand/eye coordination
· Sense of urgency to meet production schedules
· Ability to strictly adhere to all safety standards
· Ability to work independently as well as with others
· Ability to distinguish colors
· Reliable transportation to arrive at work on a daily basis
· Basic computer literacy
Environment:
· Standing and walking on production floors which are concrete for 8-hour shifts.
· Requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling frequently though out the work shift
· May be required to lift up to 50 lbs
· May not have allergies to plastic/poly and/or cardboard
· Ability to work in hot/cool work environment (regularly outside)
