Qualifications:
Must hold a current Board Certified Behavior Analyst certificate obtained through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or hold a current Behavior Specialist license in the State of Pennsylvania
Minimum 3-5 years experience working with students with emotional or behavioral disabilities
Experience in developing and implementing behavior support plans and interventions based on positive, non-aversive approaches
Additional Information:
This position works under the direction of the Director of Student Services and is responsible for assisting teachers with providing instruction to individuals or small groups of students with behavioral challenges.
This position is responsible for monitoring, redirecting and modifying student progress regarding inappropriate behaviors and performance, administering intensive behavior intervention programs to students, and performing other duties including but not limited to classroom observations, creating behavior plans, conducting functional behavior analysis and assisting teachers with lesson planning, lesson modeling, classroom management and behavior management.
Critical areas currently include:
Serving as member of student service team (the interventionist would be considered a tier of intervention as part of this team) and participate in early intervention team meetings to address academic and behavioral issues with identified students
Communicates effectively with students, staff, parents and community
Assists in improving the instruction through classroom observation and teacher/student visitation
Assists teachers with lesson planning, lesson modeling, classroom management, and behavior management
Provides teacher consultation regarding student disruptive behavior problems and/or learning problems
Assists school administrators in implementing research-based behavior programs and/or research-based interventions
Assist teachers in implementing research-based behavior programs and/or research-based interventions
Compiles and submits statistical data concerning students served
Works in coordination with teachers and administrators in planning and developing the programs to remediate behavioral and discipline problems.
Works cooperatively with staff to provide a continuous flow of information concerning student needs
Is knowledgeable of and complies with district policies, as well as state and federal guidelines
