Job Summary/Objective
This position at McCaskey High School plays a pivotal role in nurturing a positive and inclusive school environment conducive to the overall well-being and academic success of our students.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages/supervises employees, participates in hiring (recruiting, screening, interviewing), makes promotion decisions, conducts training of others, conducts performance appraisals, monitors work performance, coaches/mentors others, administers disciplinary actions, schedules others for work, directs others/assigns tasks and responsibilities, and develops budgets.
Essential and Marginal Functions
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Foster a supportive and safe school climate by implementing programs and initiatives addressing social and emotional needs.
Contribute to enhancing overall student well-being by actively engaging with students and stakeholders.
Develop and implement anti-bullying initiatives, including awareness campaigns and prevention programs.
Provide resources and support to students and staff to effectively address and prevent bullying incidents.
Cultivate positive relationships with parents, families, community partners and the broader community.
Facilitate parent/caregiver involvement in school activities and initiatives to foster a sense of community and enhance school culture.
Provide support and resources to navigate crises or challenges within the school community.
Develop and deliver training programs for staff and students on crisis intervention and resilience-building strategies.
Collaborate with the leadership team to conduct assessments and analyze data related to school safety and climate.
Utilize data-driven insights to inform targeted interventions and continuously improve the school’s inclusive and safe culture.

Qualifications
Required Preferred
Experience Minimum 2 years’ experience in school counseling, social work, or educational field related roles with a focus on student well-being and community engagement
Education High School Diploma/GED Bachelor’s degree in Education field or related field
Licenses/Certifications
CPI trainer certified
Additional Skills/Notes
Proficiency with various office software and information systems
Understanding of school safety process, planning and ongoing measures to ensure a safe learning environment for all stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including conflict resolution skills
Experience working in a collaborative community setting
Proficiency in data analysis and assessment tools to drive evidence-based interventions
Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging principles in education
Bilingual English/Spanish
