The School of Human and Health Professions at Elizabethtown College is seeking a full-time, 12-month Lecturer for the Physician Assistant (PA) Program.
The position to begin January 2, 2024 with regular annual renewal, pending satisfactory performance.
The primary responsibilities will be to the didactic year students teaching anatomy and physiology and pathophysiology courses.
Other teaching responsibilities include mentoring the clinical year students through their graduate scholarship projects.
The mission of the Elizabethtown College Physician Assistant program is to educate and matriculate motivated students who will provide high quality healthcare as skilled Physician Assistants through a transformative educational experience that cultivates personal strengths and develops a passion for lifelong learning and purposeful work.
The faculty member will also assist the program director in the review, planning and development of the program.
All faculty in the program participate in the accreditation process including ongoing course assessments, student assessments, remediation, faculty/staff assessments, program assessments, competency evaluations, accreditation site visits and data collection.
Faculty members actively participate in student recruitment and admissions (both undergraduate and graduate physician assistant studies) and student advising (both undergraduate and undergraduate).
This position includes emphasis on service and scholarly activities for one’s own growth and development.
Candidates should have a strong interest in designing enriching experiences for students that foster community engagement, holistic views of medicine and deeper understanding of human behavior.
This position requires applicant demonstration of higher education philosophies and a commitment to departmental, institutional, and community service.

Administrative o Assists the Program Director in the organization, administration, continuous and periodic review, planning, development and general effectiveness of the PA program Teaching o Designs, develops, and delivers evidence-based instruction to PA students in both the didactic and clinical phases of the program o Provides mentorship to PA students in their graduate scholarship projects o Evaluates and ensures adequacy and appropriateness of assigned courses to ensure compliance with ARC-PA standards, including continuous student assessment and timely identification of remediation needs o Maintains a reliable schedule of office hours for student advising, remediation, and consultation o Evaluates successful student progression towards graduation Scholarship The position requires maintenance of a professional development plan which addresses standard performance expectations in areas of teaching, scholarship, and service, with attention to diversity, equity, accessibility, and justice.
